On Saturday our extended families gathered together to celebrate some official
(and rather unofficial) holidays.
We opened lots of terrific presents and ate (too much) birthday cake in honor of Jimmy and my dad.
We gathered in our (too small) family room, around our (too small) television to watch the Kentucky Derby. Danny, Anthony, and Uncle Dave took a quick "detour" to Thistledown just before the party to place a few bets on the race, so we all had horses to cheer on!
(Julia was the one member of our party who remembered to wear her derby hat.)
And, of course, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a dance party in the living room.
The boys and a few of their cousins were (reluctantly) willing to participate in a some photo opportunities...
including the first picture of me with all three of my goddaughters (and, of course, Anthony).
Before long, all of the kids (along with GG) were climbing in the bounce house in the back yard.
Being able to celebrate the day with my dad...
and with my boys...
made for a fabulous birthday/Kentucky Derby/Cinco de Mayo party!
