As we celebrate James' first birthday weekend, I thought it might be a good idea to jot down a few of his favorite things.
Jim's favorite song is Twinkle, Twinkle. He can be mid-tantrum, but a few bars of this tune have him smiling and clapping (at least most of the time).
His favorite food is homemade macaroni and cheese. Partly because he can feed it to himself, and partly because it is so yummy, he always devours this for lunch or dinner. Or breakfast.
Jim's favorite book is Giggle Baby. It's not a classic, but the photos of the babies laughing send him into hysterics.
Another way to send him into happy hysterics is his favorite game, peek-a-boo. While he loves the traditional version, using a blanket or other handy object, Jimmy's especially loves to play peek-a-boo with Anthony around the kitchen corner. It can keep them both occupied for hours. Or at least a few minutes!
This might seem odd to say, but James does have a favorite family member. He loves all of us, and shares his kisses and smiles and laughs, but he adores my grandmother, his GG. If she is nearby, he has to play with her, cuddle with her, or somehow hang on her.
Jimmy's favorite restaurant is Cracker Barrel. Like his big brother, he likes the pancakes and love the ambience of the restaurant (loud noises, chaos, and the occasional train speeding by). This is one place where I can get a second cup of (hot) coffee!
These is just a short list of Jim's favorites, but they are all things that are sure to bring a big, toothy smile to his face!
