The Polar Express

Both of my boys woke up early Sunday morning, ready for their adventure to the North Pole.   Gripping their special tickets, the boys (along with Danny and I) made our way to the train station for our morning departure.

Once aboard the train, our "elves" read The Polar Express to the (somewhat) attentive kids.  We drank hot cocoa, ate cookies, and sang Christmas carols until we reached our destination.

Anthony and Jim looked out the window, and waved at the North Pole residents, which included dancing gingerbread men, an angel, a snowman, and lots and lots of elves.  The event wasn't complete until Santa arrived in his sleigh, and boarded the train.

Our little family shared some precious time together, and our trip on the Polar Express provided a two hour escape from the world that left us feeling renewed and ready to celebrate the holidays.
