Fortunately, our preschool teacher remembered that the season changes tomorrow, and assigned her students a family art project celebrating the arrival of spring. At my mother's suggestion, Anthony and Jimmy crafted a family masterpiece that included some of my favorite spring flowers, hyacinths and daffodils, both of which are trying to bloom in my front garden beds.
Anthony made sure that we included some important details. He reminded me that it takes both sunshine and rain to make my flowers "happy," and that we needed a sign to clearly show it was our family garden.
While we are anxiously waiting for warm temperatures and sunny days, we had a spring-like afternoon in our house, surrounded by flowers and big, happy smiles.
Happy (Almost) Spring!
