We decorated the house, and talked about the real reason for Easter (which is that Jesus loves us) as well the commerical underpinnings (which include the Easter Bunny and lots of chocolate treats).
The boys and I colored some "peeling" eggs on the kitchen floors in the morning...
And then repeated the process outdoors (with Danny's help) later in the afternoon.
We celebrated Easter Sunday mass on the west side with some of our favorites, and then headed to Aunt Care and Uncle Rob's for a fabulous breakfast.
Of course, I insisted on a few family photo opportunities with my boys...
And my beautiful niece.
The great-grandkids were able to spend lots of time with their GG...
And agreed to a few photos with their aunts and uncles.
After our breakfast celebration, we headed south to visit with more aunts, uncles, and cousins, and even an impromptu sitting with the (fake) Easter Bunny.
Anthony was entertained by his uncle's costume.
Jimmy was not amused in the least.
There were lots of cousins to play with, indoors...
And out.
I feel blessed that my boys adore the holidays because of the relationships they have with our extended families, and that we have the opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Happy Easter!
